Enginion was a leader in the development of small and compact steam based cogeneration systems. Its combined heat and power (CHP) generation technology had unique advantages in terms of production costs, electrical efficiency and environment friendliness. Enginion focused on the 1-5 kW range stationary applications segment, and had a fair potential to set a standard in the booming distributed energy generation market. The company spun-off from Volkswagen in 2000, and was located in Berlin (Germany). The assets of the start-up were sold in 2007.
